Vedha Nayak

I'm Vedha, and Itackle wicked problems in AI safety and resilience.

Accelerating the talent and ideas that shape how humanity navigates transformative intelligence.

I'm interested in the infrastructure of impact: the people, institutions, and ideas that help us tackle the problems that matter most. For the past 8 years, I've been exploring one central question:

How do we best create the environments for exceptionally talented humans to do their most meaningful and consequential work?

Figuring this out is my life's mission.

My work has taken me from startups and venture capital to designing incubation strategies and talent pipelines for AI safety. The through-line is the same: finding promising people and ideas early, then creating the conditions for them to pursue their most ambitious visions.

Incubating AI safety & resilience work

Designing systems to identify, develop, and support exceptional people building organizations to address AI safety challenges.

Field-buildingProgram DesignTalent

Focused on strategic questions without obvious answers: which problems in AI safety are underserved? What kinds of founders are best positioned to make meaningful progress? How do we identify and develop the talent to pursue these opportunities?

Developing incubation strategies, founder-selection frameworks, talent pipelines, and program interventions to help people identify and pursue high-impact opportunities faster.

Working on accelerating the formation of effective organizations tackling AI safety and resilience.

The core challenge is identifying where new organizations can make meaningful contributions, which founders are best positioned to pursue those opportunities, and what support systems they need to succeed.

My work spans several interconnected areas:

Field Strategy & Talent Pipelines

Mapping the AI safety landscape to identify and prioritize promising intervention areas, translating research and analysis into recommendations for program strategy and organizational direction.

Thinking about new ways to identify, attract, and support people with the capabilities and motivation to contribute to AI safety, including experienced professionals transitioning into the field.

Founder Selection & Support

Developing frameworks to assess founder-problem fit and experimenting with new approaches to talent selection and support.

Incubation & Program Design

Exploring program architectures and interventions to help founders refine their ideas, test assumptions, and converge on promising directions.

Facilitating coaching and accountability sprints for founders and developing curated resources to address recurring questions.

Generative Humans

Building a community and intellectual platform exploring human potential, agency, and what it means to live and build alongside increasingly capable machines.

CommunityTalent

Convening curious, audacious humans through salons and collaborative experiences designed to surface interesting ideas and opportunities for meaningful connections.

Creating space for unexpected collisions between people, disciplines, and ideas...and inspiring greater ambition for what we might bring to life together.

Generative Humans grew out of a question I’ve been increasingly fascinated by:

What becomes possible when you bring thoughtful, extraordinary people into each other’s orbit?

Generative Humans is my experiment in exploring this through a media platform, community, and research studio to find interesting humans, understand how they think, and put them in proximity to one another. So far, I’ve experimented with identifying and accelerating ambitious young founders through mentorship, education, funding (microgrants), and community.

Through all of it, I’ve become increasingly convinced that some of the most consequential things begin as collisions: between people, disciplines, ideas, and possibilities.

Generative Humans is my attempt to create more of those collisions.

A home for curious humans to shape and surprise each other, and become more ambitious about what we might bring to life.

MoVi

Built the connective tissue of a venture ecosystem, bringing founders, investors, operators, and domain experts together across disciplines, generations, and geographies.

CommunityVenture CapitalProgram Design

Curated and scaled a network of founders, investors, operators, and domain experts, building high-trust relationships across the venture ecosystem.

Developed infrastructure to surface opportunities and connect members with relevant talent, expertise, capital, and resources. Designed and hosted cross-disciplinary gatherings to facilitate intellectual exchange and collaboration.

At MoVi, I worked across strategy and organizational priorities while helping curate and scale a network of founders, investors, operators, and domain experts.

I designed and hosted gatherings around members' expertise and interests, built the CRM infrastructure and operational systems, and spent an unreasonable amount of time thinking about who should know each other.

The goal was to create the conditions for real intellectual and human exchange: for people to think together, challenge one another, share what they knew, and occasionally discover that the person sitting across the table held the missing piece to a problem they'd been wrestling with.

The fun was never knowing exactly what would happen. A dinner might begin with a conversation about startups and somehow end with debates on philosophy, motherhood, or even the luxury handbag market.

MoVi taught me a great deal, often through interactions with some of the most thoughtful, quietly brilliant humans around me: when to lead, when to listen, and when to ask better questions. And working across Eastern and Pacific hours from India was its own kind of education. (Two bits of advice: clarity matters, and coffee isn't optional).

Republic

Developed emerging investment talent through a competitive fellowship combining education, mentorship, and exposure to the venture ecosystem.

Venture CapitalTalentProgram DesignPortfolio Support

Led strategy and operations for Republic's Venture Fellows & Associates Program, recruiting and selecting a cohort from thousands of applicants. Designed and facilitated educational programming, including sessions with leading investors such as Rebecca Kaden of Union Square Ventures and Hunter Walk of Homebrew.

Mentored and coached 150+ aspiring investors as they developed investment theses across industries, from climate to AI safety.

At Republic, I led strategy and operations for the Venture Fellows & Associates Program, helping identify and develop emerging investment talent. I recruited and selected fellows from thousands of applicants and mentored and coached 150+ aspiring investors.

One of my biggest learnings from this experience was that small interventions at the right moment can meaningfully change someone's trajectory.

During the first cohort, I was running a program for more than 50 fellows largely on my own and started hosting weekly open office hours to create more informal, small-group interactions. In one session, a fellow shared that they’d applied to dozens of VC firms without landing interviews.

It struck me that they were optimizing for the conventional path rather than creating direct access. I encouraged them to send a cold email to the hiring manager, and we workshopped it together in real time on the call. They hit send and heard back within 20 minutes…right before the session ended!

I remember everyone clapping and cheering. It became a small but meaningful inflection point for the group, expanding our collective sense of what felt possible. Several fellows went on to reach out to people and pursue opportunities they might not otherwise have considered.

The experience reinforced something I've seen repeatedly across talent development: meaningful career shifts don't always come from building more skills. Sometimes they begin with a well-timed intervention that changes how someone sees their options.

SheWorx

Drove community growth and strategic initiatives across a network of 25,000+ women founders and investors, expanding access to relationships, resources, and capital.

CommunityPartnershipsCapital Raising

Worked across partnerships, programming, marketing, and operations to grow and activate a community of 25,000+ women founders and investors.

Designed and hosted 30+ events, averaging 200 attendees, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and ecosystem leaders. Executed the flagship SheWorx Summit in partnership with SoGal Ventures, connecting 85 women founders with leading investors through 160+ curated introductions.

SheWorx was where I discovered the magic of powerhouse women finding each other.

I joined when the community was already growing, and helped build it into a network of 25,000+ women founders and investors. We hosted 30+ events, averaging more than 200 attendees, experimented with growth and editorial strategy, and spent a lot of time figuring out what actually made people come back.

But my favourite part was dreaming up and executing our flagship Fund the Future Summit.

We kept hearing some version of the same thing from founders: they didn't want another panel about how to raise money. They needed to get in front of investors who were actually writing checks.

To tackle this, my small (but mighty!) team of three partnered with SoGal Ventures to try something different. We got funding from Barclays, Carta, Twilio, TwelveNYC, and others; recruited founders across industries from education to climate, built the infrastructure to match them with the right investors, and turned what was essentially a giant spreadsheet into a funding festival.

In a single day, we facilitated 160+ curated 1:1 pitch meetings, putting 85 women founders across the table from investors at NEA, Accel, Samsung Next Ventures, Motley Fool Ventures, and more.

That was my 23rd birthday. I remember logging off for the night and thinking: best birthday party ever. I'd never felt more sure I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

gener8tor

Worked at the intersection of venture investing and founder development, evaluating startups and helping entrepreneurs access the people and resources to grow.

Venture CapitalTalentProgram DesignPortfolio Support

Joined as a venture resident, experimenting with and launching new products on an accelerated five-week timeline before being hired full-time as a Program Manager in the Education & Workforce Innovation vertical.

Sourced and evaluated 500+ startup applications, assessing founder quality, market opportunities, and business models. Managed thesis development, accelerator operations, mentor matching, and portfolio support, connecting entrepreneurs with relevant expertise and resources.

I arrived at gener8tor with an unanswered question: what actually makes someone's potential turn into something real? This was the first place I saw part of the answer: sometimes, it starts when someone is willing to take a risk before the outcome is obvious.

gener8tor made that bet on me. As a Venture Resident, I got to sit close to the messy, exhilarating early stages of building, while launching new products during a five-week crash course in fast, thoughtful work.

My biggest learning? If you can ship something useful every week, you can do pretty much anything (except maybe describe your job at a dinner party).

I joined full-time soon after, working across Education and Workforce investing, sourcing and evaluating 500+ applications, and helping run the accelerator. Up close, I started to see how much sits between an idea and its eventual outcome: mentors, investors, customers, peers, and the right conversations that expand what a founder sees as possible.

gener8tor changed the way I saw ambition. The builders doing extraordinary things didn't necessarily have everything figured out. They were willing to start before they had certainty, surround themselves with the right collaborators, and keep going through the tough parts.

I loved being close to that energy. I especially loved finding people with unusual amounts of promise and helping create the conditions for them to act on it.

I'm always interested in people thinking about difficult problems or finding unexpected ways to make the world more interesting.

If that's you, I'd love to hear what you're working on.

Say hello
